Introduction
The Food Design Studio, Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA), is an innovative project practice base co-built by TASA and +86 Food Design Alliance. The +86 Food Design Alliance was established in 2019 upon initiation of Mr. CHI Wei, a renowned designer with a background of three generations of Beijing traditional food families since the Qing Dynasty. The Studio promotes food design culture under the guidance of innovative food design research. It is committed to bringing together food design academic research experts, cross-field designers, scientific and technological talents, farmers, chefs, food production enterprises, and catering managers for dialogues and cooperation.
The Studio gathers Chinese food brand partners and cross-field innovative design experts, aiming to provide cutting-edge food design concepts and solutions for the "food/catering/agriculture" sector. It also collaborates with and empowers downstream B2B industry clients, facilitates mutual learning and creation, and promotes the food design application and discipline construction, offering healthy and sustainable educational products with food design systems and excellent learning experiences for the industry and users (students), forming an extension and closed loop of the upstream and downstream industrial chain, and developing into an innovative ecological empowerment organization in the industry.
Our vision: to pool together food design resources and talents, promote the establishment of the food design discipline, cultivate professionals with scientific educational methods, and make people healthier, society fairer, and development more sustainable through food design.
